Tuesday, October 16, 2018, we will—
Britten—and either run it all—or decide which sections to do for the Masterclass. We will make sure everyone is clear on details for the Masterclass.
Koontz—focus on movements 3 and 4—with hopes of being able to run all of both—including soloists in movement 3.
If time allows—we will review Koontz, movement 5 (which went well 2 weeks ago) and/or Holst
At the end of the rehearsal—Koontz solo quartet, please plan to stay to go over solos in Koontz, movements 1 and 2
After that—there are only three more rehearsals
in the Church of the Brethren. In that time—we need to make sure the Koontz is
set—because the final Tuesday rehearsal in Big Baker needs to focus on
So—here’s my plan. It will work best if everyone is reviewing parts on their computers at home:
Tuesday, October 23, 2018—
Focus on Koontz, 1 and 2, with the goal of running both.
As time allows—review what is most needed in Koontz movements 3 and 5.
Holst—review—and hopefully run
If time allows—review and run Handel movement 4 (lots of continually . . .)
Koontz solo/quartet—plan to stay late for coaching
Tuesday, October 30, 2018—
Focus on Koontz movement 6—and I will update before this rehearsal what else—probably 1&2
As time allows—review Handel—and possibly Holst and/or Britten
Koontz solo/quartet plan to stay late for coaching as needed
Tuesday, November 6, 2018 (Our last rehearsal in Church of the Brethren)—
Review all of Koontz, including soloists—focusing on entrances and transitions. I doubt we will have time to run everything—but if we can—yay! If possible, we will touch on other pieces as may be most needed.
Tuesday, November 13, 2018 (In Big Baker)—
We will touch and run:
Handel—the choruses in order
If we can do that before the break (it is very possible)—we will review Koontz as much as possible to get used to the sound in the hall.
Saturday, November 17, 2018 (In Big Baker)—
***Saturday rehearsal*** Hopefully, everything will be set. It will focus primarily on Koontz with orchestra.
