Tuesday, May 1, 2018, we will be in Big Baker. Try to get there early—as there will be a seating chart—and it will take a bit of time to get settled in. We will probably do the following in this order—
Non-Requiem pieces—in concert order:
First, we will touch on any remaining issues and run each piece to make sure acoustics work well.
If time allows, we will try to make sure we have started each piece after the end of the preceding piece without stopping to fix things—just to get used to how that will feel.
The non-Requiem pieces are the highest priority Tuesday night—as the Requiem itself will be the main focus for the Saturday rehearsal.
I am very much hoping there will be time to touch all movements Tuesday night, running as many as possible.
We will also try to see how it feels to go into each movement from the preceding movement. Some of those changes are quite dramatic in tonality, dynamics and vocal tone color.
